Subangan Museum, Mati, Davao Oriental
An overwhelming feeling to be able to know the interesting facts of what really happened in the City. Couple of years ago, this placed were hit by the Typhoon Pablo, so much devastation and struggle for the residents affected. We were wondering why most structures such as hospitals, schools, houses, and the museum seen in the city is colour purple. It was actually a colour of healing. Hope is always in the heart of many Filipinos. And my heart was struck. These are the information gathered from the Subangan Museum(3rd destination).
We were thrilled to see what’s inside the Museum. It caught us by surprise seeing this petrified impression fossil of 53 feet positioned in the main hallway of the Museum. The 20-ton sperm whale found at the coast of General Generoso and is considered the 7th largest whale exhibit in the world and the 1st in the Philippines, named Davor.
So much interesting facts about Davao Oriental showed in the exhibit. Subangan Museum had such awe-inspiring presentation, the photography and video documentation is absolutely perfect that showed about their history of typhoon calamity recovery to cultural and historical heritage. A good first stop to get an overall view of what to find, look and see in the whole province of Davao Oriental.
